Colostrum Queens
We have several colostrum queens on this farm. They are beauties - sleek light brown coats in the summer, shaggy dark in the winter. Large soft soul-ful eyes. Long tails that swish, and when they hit you in the face, it stings like fire. They sometimes have attitudes, and they definitely have personalities. They understand when you talk to them, but they decide if they agree or not and whether they want to be agreeable. They choose where they take their sleep too. Sometimes when they stroll into the little area where the milk-removal process happens, their milk-expelling equipment is crusted over in what WAS warm, wet, and fresh out of another part of their large lumbering bodies. Every so often, about once a year or so, they bring a new little likeness of themselves into the world. The day of birth is always a miracle. Another miracle is this - waiting in the milk-expelling organ is the most priceless and precious substance they ever produce. It is called COLOSTRUM, and it really is liquid gold. The idea is that the new little mini-me is to take full advantage of it and consume as much as they might want. It happens too, miraculously. There is usually plenty, and we mere humans usually take advantage of that. If we can get in there within the first 6 hours after birth and remove the extra, we are awarded with thick, golden, rich, creamy goodness. But it’s what is not seen that makes it special. This stuff is loaded with good stuff. It is an immune-boosting and anti-aging cocktail. It contains anti-bodies to viruses, bacterias, parasites, funguses, toxins, and more. Anovite buys colostrum from small dairies across US and Canada. The cows on these dairies are healthy and not given any extra or artificial hormones or things like that. Very important - all this colostrum is taken within the first 6 - 7 hours after the calf’s birth. It really isn’t even milk yet then, just a “cocktail” of goodness. It is freeze-dried and then packaged up and sent out to many grateful consumers like us! (They have a 2 lb. bag for the “bulk” effect, pricing and all.) Whisk into your coffee (a little battery milk frother works perfect.) Sprinkle over fresh fruit. Mix it in your yogurt or smoothie. Add to things like homemade protein balls or granola bars. And one of my faves - mix with a little water and make a paste. Smear on your face for the absolute best health and beauty face mask ever. You WILL see a difference, even using it once a week.
